When we design infrared bathroom lamps, we’re chasing a tricky balance. We want you to feel that wave of heat the second you step out of the shower, but we don’t want you to feel like you’re staring into the sun. The real worry here is the harsh blue light and that intense glare. It’s not just annoying—it can actually be dangerous for sensitive eyes, especially for babies. The trick with the light Standard infrared lamps usually throw out a bit of everything. To fix that, we use special quartz coatings or colored glass filters. Think of these as a gatekeeper. They block out the high-energy visible light and UV rays but let the cozy, long-wave infrared heat slide right through. The result? You get all the warmth on your skin without that blinding white light hitting your eyes. Heat vs. Comfort We use halogen-filled quartz tubes because they keep the temperature steady. We tune the wattage so the heat actually reaches the floor quickly—nobody likes cold tiles. But there’s a catch: more power usually means more glare. To stop that, we added a diffused reflector. It spreads the light out, which gets rid of those annoying “hot spots” that make you squint. A few things to keep in mind for installation Since these usually go into high ceilings, there are a couple of trade-offs. Because those filters block some of the light, they also soak up a tiny bit of the heat. It’s a small loss in efficiency, but it’s worth it for the safety. To make up for it, we bump up the wattage slightly. If you go too low on the power, the room just won’t warm up fast enough. One last tip: make sure your circuit breakers can handle the initial surge when the halogen elements kick in. And give the fixture some breathing room. Proper ventilation is key so the housing doesn’t get too hot while the filter is doing its job.
