
Getting Rid of the “Cold Start” in Your Bathroom
Nobody likes that shivering feeling when you step out of the shower and into a freezing dressing area. It ruins the whole experience. To fix this, we use shortwave infrared (SWIR). Most heaters just try to warm up the air, which takes forever. Instead, our tech sends heat straight to your skin and the surfaces around you. It’s basically like stepping into a beam of sunlight. You feel warm in seconds. The secret is in the speed. We’ve tuned the filaments and the quartz glass to hit their peak temperature almost instantly. Because the heat is concentrated in that shortwave spectrum, it doesn’t waste time warming up your ceiling or the walls. It just hits the target. You get a ton of warmth without needing a giant, bulky machine. How we build them We use high-purity quartz glass because it can handle the “thermal shock” of turning on and off rapidly without cracking. We also calibrate the filaments based on the size of the room, so the heat output actually makes sense for the space. A quick heads-up: while these are built to last, the quartz tubes are delicate. When you’re installing them, make sure the brackets aren’t squeezing the glass. If there’s too much pressure on the seal, the unit will fail way sooner than it should. A few things to keep in mind for installation You’ll need a dedicated circuit for these. They pull a lot of power the moment they kick in, so if your wiring is too thin, you’re going to be tripping breakers. Also, remember that this is “line-of-sight” heat. If something is blocking the path between the heater and the person, the warmth stops. To fix that, we usually overlap the patterns of a few different units. This kills off any cold spots and keeps the area cozy without having to crank up the heat for the entire house.
