It&amp;rsquo;s heartbreaking.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;Why IR actually works&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;To get around the air problem, we use shortwave infrared lamps. Here is the thing: IR doesn&amp;rsquo;t need air to move heat. It travels in a straight line and hits the glass surface directly.&#xA;We don&amp;rsquo;t just &lt;a href=&#34;https://o-yate.net&#34;&gt;throw&lt;/a&gt; one lamp in there. We set them up in a multi-angle array. It creates this overlapping blanket of heat that wraps around the whole piece. That way, the base and the rim hit the target temperature at the exact same time. No more guessing.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;Picking the right gear&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;For thick-walled glass, you need some serious heat density. That means high-wattage quartz tubes. We usually go for these because they ramp up the heat fast. You don&amp;rsquo;t want your glass hanging around the critical strain point for any longer than it has to. To keep things stable, we use halogen-filled quartz envelopes.&#xA;But be careful with your power. A high-wattage setup gets the job done quickly, but it&amp;rsquo;s a heavy lift for your electrical system. If you&amp;rsquo;re pushing 2000W or more per lamp, double-check your wiring and breakers. You don&amp;rsquo;t want to trip the power halfway through a cycle.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;Getting it installed&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;We stick with standard R7s or SK15 connectors. Why? Because they&amp;rsquo;re easy. When a lamp eventually burns out, you just pop it out and drop a new one in. No need to &lt;a href=&#34;https://goldisgood.com&#34;&gt;rewire&lt;/a&gt; the whole rack.&#xA;One heads-up, though: IR is all about line-of-sight. It&amp;rsquo;s like a shadow, but with cold.&#xA;To fix that, you&amp;rsquo;ll need to tweak your angles or add a reflective baffle to bounce the heat into those hidden spots.
